The hamon line is created by applying furnace cement on the blade during heat treatment, then polished and acid etched to revel the beautiful line. Not only is this feature aesthetically pleasing, but it adds durability to the knife, giving the blade a hardened edge, and soft spine. The blade is sturdy and durable, up to any slicing task and even light chopping. The edge is shaving sharp, and the knife has been twice tempered.
